What does being insured on both sides mean?

Being insured “on one side” means that you are covered for injuries caused to others (what we call third-party liability). Being insured “on the other side” means that you are covered for material damages to your car (such as theft, vandalism, and collision).

You may be tempted to lower your premium by getting insured “on one side” only. However, you should think twice before doing so since you will then have to assume on your own the financial consequences of a theft or an accident. So this choice can prove to be very costly.
